Our first product existed because diaper bags kept sliding off stroller handles. Twenty years on, every Skip Hop design still starts with a real, specific parenting annoyance — and ends when it’s gone.

In 2003, two new parents in New York City had a problem every stroller-pushing parent recognizes: the diaper bag would not stay put. Ellen and Michael Diamond designed a bag with patented clips that hung flat against the stroller handle, named it the Duo, and founded Skip Hop to sell it. The idea behind that first bag — take something every parent uses daily and quietly fix everything wrong with it — turned into one of the most recognizable names in baby gear.
